Fitness Testing

Today in Fitness Ed, we did fitness testing. We did fitness testing at the beginning of the semester, then we set goals for the semester, and we did testing today to see if we reached our goals. Personally, the only thing that I don't like about fitness testing is the Pacer test. Nobody enjoys doing it and I think that sometimes, a different test should be given. In class, we learned that there are 3 different tests that can be given to measure a students cardiorespiratory endurance, the Pacer test, a 1.5 mile run, and a 1 mile walk. While all are challenging, I think it would be beneficial to administer these different tests sometimes. Doing the Pacer test over and over again is not enjoyable and it would be nice to do something different for a change.

Digital Video

Today I started recording my digital video. While it was not hard to do, I found that it was kind of difficult to be within the 4-5 minutes time range. I was either over by a lot or cut it too short. Also, it was windy so you couldn't hear me talking. I will just have to edit the video and record just my voice and add it in because you can't hear me otherwise. This is an assignment that I have never done, but it is a little more challenging than I expected it to be.

Ropes Course

For my Outdoor Pursuits class, we have been at the ropes course for the past few classes. It has been a lot of fun! I usually don't like clumbing, but I have given it a chance again and actually have been successful in completing some of the apparatus. While I still get nervous, I have enjoyed our time at the ropes course and have learned a lot about climbing. Climbing at a low or high ropes course helps get students to trust each other and they work together because it is a necessity if they want to complete these activities.

Tech Pete

This class has taught me how to use a wide variety of Google apps that I have never used before. I learned how to use Google Sites to make a website. We used Google Forms to make a quiz that could be given to a class. This is my first time using Blogger and this is my first time blogging! Maybe this assignment will make me want to continue blogging. There are still a lot of Google apps that I haven't used yet, but hopefully I will get a chance to use them all!
